thingS to do
Many are the activities that you can do in Casa Tordela and in the near surroundings. From enjoyable Tuscan food and wine degustation to arts tour in any of the wonderful cities and towns of the region.
- Tuscan Food
- Tuscan cooking classes by our chef Alida can be arranged at Casa Tordela.
- There are many excellent restaurants in the region and our chef would be happy to make recommendations (most famous Dario Cecchini international chef, his restaurant is really close to Casa Tordela)
- Tuscan Wine
- Wine festivals are held in Panzano during the first 2 weeks of September
- Wine tastings to nearby wineries and farmhouses can be arranged for the guests to discover the original Chianti Classico. In some periods of the year, guests can visit the “Molino di Grace” winery to learn about the wine making process and visit the cellar. “Vendita Diretta” signs indicate farms and wine estates where wines are sold.
- Chianti’s most famous wine region, Chianti Classico, is located between Florence and Siena. Chianti Classico defines a high-quality wine made in the heart of Chianti. It is presently made from a blend of 75-90% Sangiovese, 5-10% Canaiolo and 2-5% white Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes. Chianti Riserva must be aged a minimum of 27 months before release. Tuscan White wines often made from Trebbiano grapes, are meant to be drunk younger and not aged for long. Some of Italy’s best red wines are from the hills of Chianti and Ruffina. Brunelllo di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano are some of Itay’s most famous reds. Rosso di Montalcino can be consumed young, while Brunello is preferred aged. If seeking a change, you may also try Sassicaia, Cepparello, Solaia and Fontalloro which are also fine Italian Red Wines.
